Laleper Aytek (1960-) Türkiyeli fotoğrafçı, öğretim görevlisi, eleştirmen. İstanbul’da çalışıyor ve yaşıyor.
Boğaziçi Üniversitesi ekonomi bölümünü (BA) bitirdikten sonra, sosyal ekonomi alanında yüksek lisans çalışmalarına devam etmek üzere gittiği Norveç’te daha çok fotoğrafa yöneldi. Fotoğrafla üniversite yıllarında başlayan ve giderek derinleşen ilgisi nedeniyle 90’lı yılların başında Türkiye’ye döndü ve kendi stüdyosunu açarak reklam fotoğrafçılığı yapmaya başladı. 1998’de Türkiye’nin ilk kapsamlı dijital fotoğraf stüdyosunun kuruluşunda fotoğraf ve reklam yönetmeni olarak görev aldı. 2009’da bu yana Koç Üniversitesi, Medya ve Görsel Sanatlar Bölümü’nde (MAVA) fotoğraf üzerine dersler vermektedir.
2000 yılından bu yana fotoğraf yazılarında, öznellik kapsamında “görme biçimleri” ve “fotoğraf tarihi” üzerine yoğunlaşmaktadır. Bu temel yaklaşımını “Fotoğraf Tarihi Kanonunu Yeniden Düşünmek: Öznellik Üzerine Bir İnceleme” başlıklı yüksek lisans (MFA) tezinde ayrıntılandırarak geliştirmiştir. Yayınlanmış çalışmaları arasında fotografik düşünce üzerine yazılarını biraraya getirdiği Kendine Ait Bir Fotoğraf (2005) ile Palimpsest Istanbul (2010) ve Issız (2013) fotoğraf albümleri sayılabilir. Aytek 1991’den bu yana 16 kişisel sergi açtı ve 21 grup sergisine katıldı.
Laleper Aytek (1960-) is a Turkish photographer, college instructor and critic living and working in Istanbul.
After graduating from Boğaziçi University with a BA in economics, Aytek went to Norway to pursue graduate studies in social economics where her interest shifted more and more to photography. Her growing interest in photography that has stated in her college years resulted in her opening a photography studio in Istanbul in the early 90’s. While practicing her art as a free-lance advertising photographer, she also made valuable contributions to photography in Turkey by taking part, as the director of photography, in the establishment of the first large scale digital photography studios in Turkey. Since 2009, Aytek is teaching courses on photography in the Department of Media & Visual Arts (MAVA), Koç University (Istanbul, Turkey).
Aytek’s contribution to the literature is mainly through her journal articles where she focuses especially on the “ways of seeing” and the “history of photography” from a subjectivity point of view. This peculiar approach is mainly elaborated in her MA thesis entitled “Rethinking the History of Photography Canon: A Study on Subjectivity”. Her published work include a collection of her articles on photographic thinking; A Photography of Her Own (2005), Palimpsest Istanbul (2010) and Void (2013). As a photographer, Aytek also participated in numerous solo and group shows since 1991.
Laleper Aytek (1960- ) est une photographe turque, universitaire et critique, qui habite et travaille à Istanbul. Après avoir terminé ses études de B.A en économie à l'Université du Bosphore, Laleper Aytek part en Norvège pour poursuivre des études supérieures en économie sociale où elle s’est de plus en plus orientée vers la photographie. Son intérêt croissant pour la photographie depuis l’université l’a poussée à revenir en Turquie au début des années 90 où elle ouvra son studio et travailla comme photographe publicitaire. En 1998, elle a été mise à contribution en tant que directrice de photographie et de publicité lors de la mise en place du premier studio de photographie numérique à grande échelle en Turquie. Depuis 2009, Aytek donne des cours sur la photographie au Département des Médias et des Arts Visuels (MAVA) à l’Université Koç. Elle est également auteur de nombreux articles sur la photo, consacrés au concept de la subjectivité, dans les « manières de voir » et « l'histoire de la photographie ». Cette approche particulière est principalement développée dans son mémoire de maîtrise intitulé « Repenser le canon de l'histoire de la photographie : une étude sur la subjectivité ». Ses publications comprennent un recueil de ses articles sur la pensée photographique : Une photographie à soi (2005), Palimpseste Istanbul (2010) et Vide (2013). Depuis 1991, Laleper Aytek a inauguré 16 expositions personnelles et a participé à 21 expositions collectives.
